DIY Tow Bar Install

So looking at getting the below tow bar, not sure if its worth spending the extra $120 on them installing it. https://www.towbarsaustralia.com.au/towbar-kits/lancer-cj-es-sx-rx-vrx-gt-sedan I'm pretty good at this stuff but I don't want to do something wrong, we are talking about towing a trailer an...

135k Service VRX

So just called to check the service cost, thinking it would be around $300, but its double that at $600. This is for the 135k service on my VRX. Is this the average rate for this service? And before people jump on me, part of the used car warranty I paid for (yes I know) is to have the car service w...

Re: Upcoming/Current Deals

I think they made a mistake dropping the RA (not to mention EVO X) and yes the Black Edition is nothing many have done to their Lancers on this forum, new wheels and a bit of black paint or wrap. The front looks way better without the chrome, will be interesting to see how well it sells or the feedb...

Is Mitsubishi getting desperate with the Lancer? LANCER BLACK EDITION CVT AUTO https://www.mitsubishi-motors.com.au/shopping-tools/special-offers/detail/626/5394 https://www.mitsubishi-motors.com.au/uploads/vehicles/lancer/2017/black_edition/lancer-2017-es-black-edition-2wd-titanium-large.png

Re: WTB: Left Front Door

I thought the paint code was on the plate under the bonnet, on the fire wall?

That said getting one the same color in good condition can save you a packet. Good luck, I can't find any CJs at the local wreckers here on the Sunshine coast.

Re: Lancer portrait photoshoot w/ iPhone 8 plus

No but its still pretty good and the closer to the subject you still get some blurred background. What I will do is use the iPhone 8 and my Canon 70D at the same 'shoot' to better compare how the smart phone stacks up to a proper DLSR with different lenses.

Re: Lancer portrait photoshoot w/ iPhone 8 plus

Good work, I got an iPhone 8 (not the plus) a few weeks ago but not had a chance to take good shots of the CJ, it needs a wash.

Re: summers coming up.

I've not found any loss of power in normal use with the AC in my 2.4 VRX. Also how effective the AC is depends on a number of factors, mostly the exterior temp. Here in QLD its quite warm this time of year so I tend to run it all the time. Just set my Climate controls to auto then adjust the temp as...

Re: Old CJ, new member

Back in the 90s I did an engine swap on a 76' Celica, got an import twitcam with twin carbies, a lot easier swap then any EFI I did most of the work myself and I was only 18 at the time with zero experience.

I went to the QLD a few years back in my old coupe, fun day. Didn't get to the last one.

Re: Old CJ, new member

My 09 VRX has just 118k on it, which I thought was a lot. I've had it about 3 years now and its performed well.

Welcome to the club.

Re: Scorpion Lip, will i scrape?

My VRX is on stock suspension and already there are a couple of places I have to be careful and go slow, drop the height 1" and add this and I'd not be going a lot of places. But at least its not as bad as those who have trouble going to a fast food drive through without scraping the speed bump...

Re: Paint damage while reversing out of driveway

If it were me I'd try some DIY, probably get the paints needed for about $50 including some clear top paint, mask off the area and leave space for over spray. might take a bit of work but could save you a packet depending on your skills. Maybe we need some workshop days where people with skills can ...
