Re: Auto Tensioner Flange Recall

Thanks for the link. I have that manual but it's missing a lot of the pictures. It insists on using Internet Explorer. I will keep looking for a .pdf version. I have a .pdf manual for my 2016 Outlander, much easier to use. Looks like the tensioner is easy to get to and remove. Remove front wheel, sp...

Re: Auto Tensioner Flange Recall

I got the letter for the wife's 2012 CJ last week. It sounds like it is just a visual inspection of the belt tensioner flange and a replacement only if cracks are found. Went to look at the thing myself, thought I'd look it up in the workshop manual and damn, can't find my digital copy. Anyone got a...

You know you drive a CJ because you put the centre display on UK miles per gallon, and are disappointed you don't crack the 40 MPG barrier around town, but top out at 39!

The boost, the boost is tops . . . . oh, hang on, the ES doesn't do boost. OK then, fuel economy around town, electric steering, the fact my wife paid for it but I get to drive her everywhere. Lovely clutch and stick action. Lazy auto drivers don't know what they are missing. Sometimes I make little...

An old thread, I know. Bought an Oct 2011 ES with the electric steering, second hand. Gets 7.6 L/100 km around town without trying too hard, so the claimed improvement in fuel consumption for the 2012 model sounds correct. Readout can be set to UK MPG, works out to 32 MPG. Last time I got that, was ...

The service reminder can be turned off, someone may have done this.

Mine's off, because I'm organised enough to do my DIY services when needed. YMMV.

Sure is loud! But good if you are a deaf old fart, or are worried about accidentally leaving the indicator on. No way you could ignore that electronic beep! Might change it back soon though, can be quite annoying really.

Drove my first manual Lancer in 2004 when the wife bought a new CH. I was impressed with the light clutch and shift quality (I'm the designated driver, she is the designated nag . . . err navigator - right down to when to change lanes and use the indicator. ) :x Recently bought a 2011 Lancer ES manu...

Questionable: Fuse box behind the glovebox. Am I a contortionist or something? Rear vision when reversing. Road noise on the standard tyres. Front suspension feels choppy too. These points are much better in the CH Lancer. Mirrors need adjusting to. Can't set central display to keep long term fuel c...

Manual VS CVT. The debate goes on . . . :) Can't vouch for the CVT, but the manual is so easy to drive I don't get people who complain about needing to use the clutch often. It's light, has a short throw, a wide take up point, and the gear change is smooth. I have noticed that the gearbox takes a wh...

Adelaide northern suburb, Elizabeth way. (Bogan territory, but not in MY street. ) :) We have a 2004 Lancer in the family, bought new - no problems with it whatever over 10 odd years, but wife wants to upgrade. Something about wanting more air bags in her car, donno really. I'm checking out this for...

'nother new member - Ron from Adelaide

Yes, well . . . Joined up to check out the current Lancer. Thinking of buying one - possibly second hand but no more than a couple of years old. Wife wants a new car, anything will do, as long as it is white, manual and doesn't have too many distracting features (auto wipers would freak her out), so...
