Yeah, the waterspots are a downside... no such thing as a free lunch. ;) What did I do on my car today? I averaged 8.8 l/100km on the commute home. By far my best fuel economy figure. ~35kms trundling through Sydney peak hour traffic, plenty of stop/starts, plenty of idling not going anywhere for mi...

decent wash of the car and of course it rains later... mud everywhere! We must live in opposite world - I took my car out for a run on the weekend to Warragamba Dam, hoping to see the dam overflow, etc. Ended up travelling on a section of unpaved road. Splattered mud everywhere on the car. Today, i...

Got a 4 wheel alignment. Hoping it'll save my tyres from further uneven wear. The before readings were expectedly terrible: +.8mm one side, -.2mm the other for front toe. Backstory: 3 of my 4 tyres have the outside edges scrubbed pretty bad. With less than 14,000kms on the clock, the tyres don't see...

Colour me interested. Although I'm extremely inundated with work currently (and can't make the cruise down south on the 11th :(); it should ease off in a fortnight or so.

I love cruising at night - lower temps, more dense air for the turbo. :)

Suggestion: Bells Line of Road. Mt Tommah botanical gardens - beautiful in in spring with the blooming flowers, etc. Or Bilpin pick your own apples, chestnuts, and a variety of other fruits - later summer/autumn, ie. soonish. Or Bells Line of Road all the way to the end, Zig Zag Railway at Lithgow.

Hi Peter, I looked in the service handbook, each service interval there's an 'additional items' at the bottom that states change ACD/SAYC hydraulic control system fluid (for severe conditions). I guess it's a probably good idea to get that changed. Also, the dealer carried out an undocumented servic...

Hey guys I have a question: My previous car I purchased from new, and always had it serviced every 6 mths regardless of kms. But my current Lancer, the prev owner was slack and serviced it by kms, which I suspect the majority of car owners do - having shopped around and looking at service histories ...

I filled up, it was cheap at "only" $1.589 for PULP98. 48 litres pumped in, averaging 13.3 l/100km for the tankful. Been thrashing it a bit, as I've only had the car 2 weeks and the novelty of forced induction torque hasn't worn off yet. The previous fill ups I've averaged closer to 12 l/1...

I would be very careful on what you say about commercial installers. I started my trade at JB Hifi. I NEVER ONCE CUT A LOOM. all plugs were adapted straight into - not a plug in harness either. Cutting a loom is a sackable offence and after i ended up as a workshop foreman i DID fire fitters for do...

Thread title says 'bodyshop', thread contents says 'custom install audio'. I r confuzzed. Assuming the latter, as the replies seem to be headed: Lifestyle Audio in North Parra. Doran Pro Audio in Bankstown (very highly rated). But if you really care about not ruining your pride and joy (alot of peop...

I'd definitely love to see your ICE setup Matt. But as for me car audio's for fun/enjoyment, not to compete (altho it was kind of my new year's resolution last year to compete). But I do think the Lancer could do with some application of sound deadening. Even if just to bring out the factory stereo.

[quote:c89788ec94=BZC-45S]I had a pretty wild stereo in my old car, Im thinking of installing it in my Lancer. eg. the old 0 gauge cabling and JL 1000/1 amp that draws more power than the cars alternator can produce.[/quote:c89788ec94] Im thinking your 1000/1 might have issues. They are a VERY effi...

Bought an official Mitsi oil filter for my Lancer today, for an oil change due mid year (I'm still waiting for Supercheap to have a sale to buy the oil). Price wasn't too bad, ~$18. The cabin filter however, was around $55 and it didn't even have a frame/surround, it was just a piece of pleated pape...
