Re: SST clutch slipping or just needs new fluid

Surely its not the SST flash, cause Tokyo Motorsports are like the only major service area for SSTs and JDMs in WA and thats where i sent it so I assumed that they would have the revised flash, tbf the flash is 4 years old so it might not be the first variant of the SST flash (Done by prev owner). T...

Re: SST clutch slipping or just needs new fluid

I'm not sure if it was a bad tune or not, it was done by a reputable place here in WA The rebuild was done about 80,000km ago or 4 years by the prev owner, they put the SSP EVO X clutch pack in (Thats what i was told) It had the first variation (I think???) the of Super Sport Flash (Done same time r...

Re: SST clutch slipping or just needs new fluid

I did the teach-in with evo scan, and with no avail. Did some logging and it seems like i barely hit 6psi and it just slips (only tested 2nd to 3rd) and light boost from 4th to 5th ands still slips. Not sure how only those gears are slipping and not the rest of them (every other gear shifts aggressi...

Re: SST clutch slipping or just needs new fluid

I always thought a teach in was meant to be done after a fluid change. I was having issues after my rebuild of sst, it was coming up service sst. I done a teach in and its been great for a year now Would it be worth a shot to do the teach in and see if it fixes it? because it has SSP clutchpack ins...

Re: SST clutch slipping or just needs new fluid

Clutch slip tend to cause shudder on take off. Should change the SST fluid and filter every 60k if u drive it like a family car and more often since yours is modded. Get fluid from ford or transmax dual from sparesbox. Get external filter from ford. xfer oil get burnt quicker since it is hot. Proba...

Re: SST clutch slipping or just needs new fluid

Has it had the sst mod done? Highly recommend it. Mine is running a firmware from RP motorsport. Ak racing do a remote install service. Also it can be purchased from Evoscan. I have a built SST too. Secondly if you have Evoscan and a Tactrix you can log clutch slip within the software. Maybe you co...

SST clutch slipping or just needs new fluid

I bought a 2nd hand RA recently and noticed from 2nd to 3rd and 4th to 5th the RPMs tend to stay when upshifting when in boost (~3k RPM) and the clutches were upgraded by the first owner ~80,000km ago so im just wondering if the clutches are slipping or if the old fluid is causing this (fluid was ch...

Re: Replace Instrument Cluster

Hi guys, I swapped the instrument cluster of my turboed Lancer from a old looking red display 8100A117 to a modern 8100C621 of an ASX (Outlander Sport). From what I've read - everybody says they are a direct swap, but I am having troubles. My lancer is a manual transmission without any TMPS and it ...

Re: Replace Instrument Cluster

I think you need to edit the VIN number within the cluster, Maybe there is also a slight incompatibility with the cluster to the car. But with not actually swapping one Im not sure did you manage to find any luck in changing the ODO reading via MMCodingWriter or can it only be changed within the in...

Re: Side mirror motor replacement

Its not as easy as just changing the mirrors, you need to change the mirror switch on the door, the wiring in the car has to be there including the relays. Also the etacs has to be enabled to allow the power fold. Asx/outlander mirrors are different (well my 2020 ASX mirrors are different) to my 20...

Side mirror motor replacement

Does anyone know if the side mirror motor from ASX/Outlanders mirror motors fit the CF side mirrors? looking at adding auto fold mirrors and was wondering if its easier to just replace the motor and do the wiring separate to the ETACS?

water damaged evo x (engine bay/engine)

So there is a wrecker who is parting out an evo x, so far only sold was tail lights and hood vents. I asked how much for the entire car and he said 8k, the only damage he stated was water damage in the engine bay. I haven't had a look in person to see the damages but looking for outside opinions on ...

What coolant to use

I'm needing to replace my upper radiator hoses (coolant is leaking at the ends connecting to the radiator) and while doing research I saw someone say in a thread to only use OEM coolant as lancers radiators are very fussy about what coolant goes in and was wondering if using a Penrite coolant from r...
