That sounds like normal backlash in the drivetrain. To check CV joints turn the wheel on full lock and drive in a circle you will get a clicking/rattling noise if the joint is U/S. Do it clockwise and anticlockwise

Pads and rotors are not your problem. You may need to seek a second opinion from someone who can see the problem

Could be on the right track there benyamin. Normally there are no issues with the electric steering. As a side note the Hyundai i30 has a problem with a small bush wearing out in the motor drive in the column. After replacing the bush you need to do a reset of the neutral position otherwise it does ...

Is it electric or hydraulic assist? 2008 is a bit early for electric steering. There may be a problem with the drive belt slipping or the tensioner isn’t working properly and not keeping the belt tight

Agee with bumblebee it may be a vacuum leak. You said it occurs when you apply the brakes,disconnect the brake booster hose from the intake manifold and plug the fitting in the manifold.
