Re: CCTV help please!

Higher amperage won't harm anything. Higher voltage will absolutely do damage. If you have a 600amp 12 car battery and connect a 2.5 amp 12 volt camera so long as you get the polarity of the cables correct , the camera will work. It will only draw the needed 2.5 amps to run and no more. Unless there...

Re: Buying a 2010 VRX Manual Sportsback/Hatchback

To the best of my knowledge at around 90 to 100 thousands Kay's the valve shims need to be replaced.
And to the best of my knowledge the timing chain lasts the lifetime of the motor.
Owners manual says service every 15,000 Kay's
I do mine every 10,000

Re: CCTV help please!

You could go nuts and get a much higher amperage power pack
If it needs 12 v 2 amp
You can feed it 12 v 600 amp off car battery
It won't blow.up
However
If you feed it 20v at 600 amp
That's when you will see smoke

Re: Getting to indicator stalk

There was a recall for some of the Lancer for the stalks , there was grease to be added to it from memory.
Check your vin at the Mitsubishi web site and see if it needs a recall done.
If not, and it's not under warranty, I would grab another stalk from a wrecker and drop it in

Re: CCTV help please!

Welcome to the world of electronics. A DMM will come in handy right about now. The 10 meters cable will no doubt have power loss over it. The power supply driving it may not be the best either. The voltage / amperage drop over the 10eter cable could be enough to stop the camera working. The cable co...

Re: Changing ETACS settings for Sydney members!

I have done this on a few lancer now. Mmcoding writer makes it very simple.
Doors auto lock at 20kmph and unlock upon crash or when you manual unlock doors from inside

Re: Tapping into turn lights for DRL

The connection that cut the wire will cause more headaches then cures. The posi-tap units are magic for small stuff like this. They do also have waterproof units .
Quite inexpensive and reusable if needed.

Re: Fender flares

I'd hate to see the damage done when a wheel comes off at speed in a suburban area and hits a child.
Sadly people just don't think about that and they should

Re: Tapping into turn lights for DRL

Find the wire for the indicators and tap it using a "posi-tap"
I bet it is looking for the positive wire.

Re: Exhaust

Read this https://www.lukey.com.au/pages/exhaust-size For a NA 2.25inch is the go. Get it mandrel bent. Put a fibreglass packed resonator in it. I suggest a fibreglass packed Lukey muffler also. If your going to this extreme I highly recommend a set of extractors as well.get the extractor either wra...

Re: Fender flares

Just a comment on wheel spacers......don't use them they will cause bearing failure and you will have a hard time keeping the wheels on it because the wheel nuts tend to keep coming loose.A much better fix is to get the offset you need by purchasing a set of wheels with the desired offset. As for th...
