Might be time for a CVT service, there is filters, and o-rings to change, the valve body could probably need a clean, A mate in NZ reco'd his CVT/Auto tranny 6 years ago and still goes like new, you may not have to go that far, but a good flush won't hurt, as there is an oil cooler for those things...

And wiring additional lights directions into the high beams is now legal, you no longer need to have a separate switch for it. They changed the laws this year I believe. The aerial usually has its Earth/ground through the mounting bracket, which is why it has the stud then the bracket connected to the body work. quite often recommended to get a good bare metal to bare metal connection as possible.
