Cheers Darryl, most regulations are well buried in pages of legislation, but these popped up pretty easy, only a couple were difficult, but now we all have a point of reference.

Hey MODs, make this a sticky!

Re: Windscreen washer pump dead?

After three weeks of sitting there a little corrosion could have built up around the plug and contacts, especially if it has been particularly muggy. As the others say, a quick check over before going through the hassle of removing it will save you some time if it is minor fix. Still got water in t...

Re: WINDOW TINTING

I'm not too clued up on it here, but provided your car came with the tint from factory, as some say Privacy glass, you're in the clear, I know the VR-X has some quite dark glass on it, you can see shapes in the back seat, but can't make out any features. but strangely most of the other VR-Xs I see ...

Seems we've had a few new arrivals to the forums, I do hope you have all found the information helpful even if it gets a bit like a town from the old west around here

Re: 1974 GSR Lancer

The hardest thing to find has been decent photos of the sump guards...they were a work of art, 3 sheets of 2mm aluminium folded to shape and riveted together.I have a fairly good idea what they looked like so we will get one pretty close. I have a friend with plenty of contacts in Japan, I've asked...

Re: 2009 Lancer Vehicle Speed Sensor

shoot me a PM with your VIN number and I'll track down a part number for you from an EPC, and lancerdarryl's link is to the workshop manual on how to find the part and get it out etc.

Re: 1974 GSR Lancer

Looking good, nothing like a good restoration. Saw an advert from the 70s and 80s on a facebook page I follow for the lancer, and had the same car as your avatar next to it, obviously appealing to the inner rally drivers of the time

Re: 2008 Galant Fortis

The Chassis is CY4A-0108446. My MMCS looks pretty similar- the same menu buttons are there but without the pretty icons yours shows. I'll see if I can find out the software version I have. Chassis code worked =) Check out this thread and see if the way to get into the service menus works for you. O...

Re: What did you do on your car today?

From memory wheel nuts are meant to be around 90Nm, maybe 95? I keep a torque bar in my boot if I need it. Oh and a lot of the time I now carry my torque wrench :) Except when you take the car to a tyre shop of rip shit and bust merchants who use a 3/4 drive impact wrench to do all the wheel nuts up

Re: 2008 Galant Fortis

Is your MMCS manual in english? I have a downloaded english version for the dvd unit, it could help if you don't, as it may have some shared functions with the HDD unit, being a similar vintage I would imagine it would. I know your unit will be in Japanese, but when you press the menu button do you...

Re: 2008 Galant Fortis

In the 08 models it is up above the glove box on the back of the dash (probably the same for all of them really), mine in the VR-X died. It paired once and that was the last time it worked, then when I got my Gen 1 MMCS I had bluetooth again, but the MMCS doesn't allow you to use the voice function...

Re: 2008 Galant Fortis

Tidy car man, looks like it would be on par with Platinum, VR, or Activ spec Lancer. The hard drive MMCS, apparently the Americans have hacked theirs, plenty of info on US Lancer forums. The Aussies scored the DVD based ones, like mine in my ride thread, and later the SD card version. You should be...
