Re: Engine stalling

Get your air con checked too, I had a leaking one (not in this car) and when all the fluid finally ran out the car started stalling and it got to a point where it wouldn't start as the air con pump had seized... My car an MY08 VRX does a "neat" little surge thing when I am in traffic but ...

Re: When will I need new Brake Pads?

Didn't really think about the handbrake shoes, are they worth changing if you do the rear rotors? I figured I'd do mine while I was at it, and the car having done a little over 270k I'd do them anyway. in reality they're probably a part that doesn't really need to be changed unless you do a lot of ...

Re: New member - BamBam

Welcome to the club  have a search through the threads in the members rides section, you're bound to find a thing or two there. Most blokes swear by the RA snorkel, you can pick it up new from Amayama.com fits straight in and allows the engine to breathe better. rasit.aslim is currently do...

Re: When will I need new Brake Pads?

I've got some Borg and Beck Pads, Rotors, and Handbrake Shoes coming out of the UK with our Sea Freight order so they'll be here next year approximately the time I'll need to replace them =D They're nothing fancy, simply OE replacement. Staff rates so the price is more than okay ;) Trade price on t...

Re: Pollen Filter Replacement

When I get in my car and the temp reading in the multi display says I think near 30 degrees the A/C is automatically on recirculate till the temp in the cabin comes down sufficiently and it then turns off the recirculation.

Re: Help buying Ralliart

Pre purchase checks by the regional auto club also, RACV, RACQ etc, should go a long way to finding any gremlins, I'm not sure if they have scanning tools available. If you're happy to lose $500 in a deposit maybe even asking them to take it in to a Mitsi dealer of your choosing to have them plug i...

Re: Pollen Filter Replacement

$20 still isn't bad. I'm not sure how good those really cheap ones are, whether they're actually activated carbon, just normal carbon, or coloured paper. Also the filter micron may be greater (filters less fibre particles). At least getting a branded one like the one I mentioned or Sakura you'd hop...

Re: Pollen Filter Replacement

I've been using Sakura brand in my car, at the moment have an activated carbon one in there and their oil filter. Both only set me back about $12+ as I get a deal through work. They also do a bio guard one which is supposed to filter out bacteria and other gremlins from your air con system but that...

Re: Is this legal - 4th brake light?

The sports wagon has a fog light back there, bumper mounted, the same shape as the Pajero. As for the sedan having the wiring I'm not sure. There is a thread around here about one of the lads hooking up the fog in his sports wagon and the circus involved.

Re: Installing SDA in Lancer VR 2007

I think the SDA system is much more involved than the MMCS that was brought out when the Lancer was updated. It may not wire into the older vehicles, check out the Pajero forums, as those guys have done a lot with the MMCS and other in car entertainment systems, and it is where I did a lot of my re...

Re: Lost!!

I did an engine swap once, in my old Primera, not as technical as the 4B11 engine (was just a trusty old SR20) and that took nearly 24hrs straight before we had all the gremlins ironed out and the car running again, I dread to think what is involved in a far more electronically managed system.

Re: What did you do today?

Those numbers suit my VR-X also, but there is a foot note with the DB417 that after 03/2009, they supersede to DBA2422, the differences being the height, thickness, and minimum thickness Specifications Diameter (mm) 294 Height (mm) 46 Thickness (mm) 24 Minimum Thickness (mm) 22.4 Centre Hole (mm) 6...
